Maheshwara Pooja – Sadhu Seva
Maheshwara Pooja (Sadhu Seva) is a sacred offering to Lord Shiva in the form of Sadhus. In Sanatana Dharma, serving Sadhus with food, humility, and devotion is regarded as an act of worship offered directly to Maheshwara.
At Arunachala, Shankara Sannidhi Ashrama undertakes Annaprasadam for Sadhus as a humble expression of Maheshwara Pooja.
Annadanam is considered one of the highest forms of Seva. Food sustains life, and offering food to another being is therefore regarded as Pranadanam — the giving of the gift of life.
As of September 2026, through our Maheshwara Pooja and Annadanam initiatives, we have served 50,000+ meals to Sadhus, Yatrikas, and Annarthis at Arunachala.
Our Sankalpa is to expand Maheshwara Pooja and Annadanam at Arunachala, serving more Sadhus, Yatrikas, and Annarthis with devotion, humility, and dedication.
